On 1 December we are joining Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement. It’s time to support charities, for Christmas’ sake!

This year Covid-19 has severely limited the Caravana’s fundraising efforts. We fundraise up to40% of our costs through events and sponsorship activities. Now more than ever, we need your support. Coronavirus has brought new challenges to the legal profession in Colombia, alongside increased attacks on lawyers and human rights defenders, and heightened threats to independence of the judiciary.

If you’d like to help us fundraise, how about you run a 5K wearing a Santa hat? Host a  virtual bake-off of Christmas cakes? Or a dancing competition of your favourite Christmas tunes? How about hosting a Christmas online raffle? Or even an online pub quiz?

Just decide what you want to do, pick any day that suits you best to do your challenge in December and then set-up your fundraising page and ask your friends and family to support your efforts. Here is a taster of some of the challenges we have planned:

Charlotte, our Chair, will be listening to Maria Carey’s famous song ‘All I Want for Christmas’. On repeat. For 8 hours, non-stop!

Gemma, our consultant coordinator, will do a dancing challenge to Christmas Songs and Carols for 3 hours! which anyone can join to dance along!
