After the visit of president Duque to the European Union Parlament, we added our concern to the joint letter promoted by OIDHACO addressed to the European Authorities about their public declarations issued after the VII High-Level Dialogue and the XIII Human Rights Dialogue between the European Union and Colombia.
Colombia holds the highest murder rate of human rights defenders in the world. In early 2022 alone at least 19 massacres and 22 social leaders murdered have been reported.
The letter was signed by 81 international and Colombian organisations that deeply lament that both public declarations issued after the VII High-Level Dialogue and the XIII Human Rights Dialogue between the European Union and Colombia.
