In Colombia, it is precarious work representing victims of human rights violations and their families who have for many years demanded that their fundamental right to the truth be respected. Lawyers and human rights defenders who work tirelessly seeking effective investigations into extrajudicial executions and massacres face threats, attacks and stigmatisation from State and non-State actors who have sought to suppress the full disclosure of the truth about these crimes.
