This report, written by Paul Joffe, highlights the minimum standards for indigenous peoples’ rights, by analysing the interaction between the American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (adopted in 2016 by the OAS) and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2008). The author argues that the minimum standard for each right is the one that is higher in each of these two human rights instruments. The report also considers the footnotes added by Colombia to some of the provisions included in the new American Declaration. Read the report here
